While washing and waxing your vehicle's exterior is one of the best ways for you to keep it looking new, you can also address any scrapes, scratches or chips in the finish by applying matching touch-up paint.

Your vehicle's exact paint configuration can be found in your driver's manual or ascertained from its make and model year. Prepare the surface of a shallow scrape with a thorough cleaning and drying, then rough up the area slightly with some fine-grit sandpaper so the paint will have an ideal surface for adhering. Dab the paint carefully using the included applicator, starting conservatively and adding more as needed. After it dries, apply wax to seal and protect your vehicle's paint.

For deeper imperfections, you may want to raise the area to match its surroundings by adding primer so that the whole area is level. Once the primer dries, apply paint just as you would for a shallow scratch.
