Driving should be easy given technology and entertainment options myriad and ever-present. With parking assistance, lane departure and blind-spot warning systems, and the like, one may become complacent or inattentive of surroundings, roadways or quaint A1A. And then, the potential for an accident or injury rises dramatically. It's not something anyone would want to happen.
It's always prudent to be well-rested before any drive, whether commuting or running errands. For long drives up to Orlando or down I-95 to Miami, not only is rest required but comfort as well. Seat and mirrors should be adjusted accordingly before engine start. Make sure you're well hydrated and have a stash of bottled water in the trunk should there be a need. It's also good to have a small supply of easily consumed energy bars on hand for long trips. In all, common sense is a good barometer toward safe, attentive driving.
