In this blog post we are going to be comparing the standard 2021 Genesis GV80 with the standard 2021 BMW X5, as both of these vehicles are similar sized, luxury SUV's.

Exterior & Powertrain:

X5 -
The engine on the standard BMW X5 is a 3.0-liter BMW Twin Power Turbo inline 6-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It gets about 335-hp. On the exterior there is a kidney shaped grille that adds to its luxury. The headlights are LED low beam bulb with projector beam lenses and there is chrome molding around side windows. The X5 sits on 19" V-spoke wheels and has rain-sensing windshield wipers.

 

GV80 -
The standard engine is a 2.5L Turbo 4-cylinder with 8-speed automatic transmission. There is a large crest-shaped grill and bisected headlights. The headlights are also LED and there are daytime running lights as well. It sits on 19" alloy wheels and has chrome molding around side windows and on side of body. There is also intermittent rain sensing wipers.


Interior:

X5 -

The interior seats are SensaTec upholstery. There is Fineline stripe brown high-gloss wood trim and a SensaTec dashboard. A remote trunk release allows for more convenience. The leather wrapped sport steering wheel adds to its luxury. There is more space for your cargo with 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats.

The X5 has a remote glass sunroof and ambient lighting to give it a more sophisticated look. The 16-way power front sport seats feature lumbar support and memory. It will memorize your specific adjustments for your convenience.

GV80 -
The interior seats are made of synthetic leather with driver and passenger bucket seats. There is a leather-trimmed, tilt telescoping steering wheel. Ambient lighting is also throughout the interior. The wood accents really give it that luxurious feel. Lift gate has a hands-free release and there is also an available panoramic sunroof.

 

Driver and passenger bucket front seats have 12-way memorized/power height. A power liftgate allows for more convenience.

Technology:

X5 -
The X5 has a few drive modes: Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport. It has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, as well as USB connections. There is a HiFi sound system with 205-watt digital amplifier and 10 speakers. For your convenience there is a push start button.

The instrument panel is a 12.3 in. multi-function display screen. There is also a 12.3 in. multi-function display touch screen, where you can access apps like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For driver assistance features there is Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist System, Blind Sport Detection, Hill Holder Hill Start Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Headlight Control, High Beam Assist, Electronic Traction Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Parking Assistance, Rear cross-traffic alert Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Electronic Traction Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Brake Distribution, and Brake Assist System.

 

The LATCH system provides safety since it allows for better installation for your child's seats. Safety features also include 10 airbags and content theft alarm.
